Dressed in bridal white,
Seemingly virginal, angelical bright,
In a sweep of elegance personified,
They slowly alight from the skies.
Dancing through the cold winter air,
A waltz into the lair, graceful and constant,
They sink onto the blanket so snowy,
Melting gently in symphony.
Applause for the creator,
The show holds me in rapture,
For although it lasts but a moment,
The signs remain forever.
And so Mother Nature says:
‘Although the journey is short,
And seems endlessly bleak,
Dance together every night,
Let inspiration be your magical potion,
Live like poetry in motion.’

Nostalgia
It's just another day,
Another dawn, another dusk,
Amidst piling thoughts to sort,
Memories come rushing forth.
Fleeting images of a time long past,
A heartbeat that makes it seem like yesterday.
Of what was, is and is to be,
Snowflakes that melt ever so slowly.
What we face today is an illusion,
Or perhaps a mirror?
Echoing our darkest desires,
Our deepest fears.
Neither one nor the other,
Only reality in creation,
Upon times well remembered.
And though the images may have ceased to exist,
The emotions remain ... well guarded until eternity.
Another dawn, another dusk,
Amidst piling thoughts to sort,
Memories come rushing forth.
Fleeting images of a time long past,
A heartbeat that makes it seem like yesterday.
Of what was, is and is to be,
Snowflakes that melt ever so slowly.
What we face today is an illusion,
Or perhaps a mirror?
Echoing our darkest desires,
Our deepest fears.
Neither one nor the other,
Only reality in creation,
Upon times well remembered.
And though the images may have ceased to exist,
The emotions remain ... well guarded until eternity.
An ode to the Phoenix
Trees of a brilliant hue, frame the blue skies,
The weeping willow sweeps the waters,
Ripples on the lakefront, form and formless,
Witness to a magical process.
A blink, a heartbeat,
Now, the leaves a golden yellow,
The maples trees a brilliant red,
Southward geese only confirm,
That autumn’s in the air again.
Nature has a hidden meaning,
Birth, life, death and then again,
As the wheels of time roll on,
We hear a gentle promise:
‘You will rise from the ashes once more’.
